Phase 1B – Perpetual Adoration Chapel & Link to QFFC

General

Once the main structure of the QFFC is completed and occupied in Spring 2008, the current children’s center will be demolished in order to begin construction for the new Perpetual Adoration Chapel and connecting vestibule to the Quigley Center.  Completion of the chapel and link is expected in the Summer, 2008.

Site

It will be constructed at an angle on the southeast corner of 92nd and Summit – connecting it architecturally to the church.  Though linked to the Quigley building through the use of glass to create an open, bright and visual separation, the chapel will have three sides to project a more traditional, freestanding design constructed of similar color and style materials to that of the church.  It will be approximately 860 sq ft with seating for 40 people.  It will have a well lit, dedicated parking area off 92nd street.

Meditation Garden

The “Fr. Jim Wright Meditation Garden”, named in honor of our former pastor who loved gardening, will be located on the east side of the new adoration chapel.  It will feature a large patio area around a central statue of Christ with benches, trees and various flowering plants placed around the structure.

Key Design Features/Furnishings

With seating for proximately 40 people, the chapel will be small enough to allow an intimate environment, but large enough for entire groups who might be using the QFFC the opportunity to spend some time in the chapel as part of the meeting.
