Upper Level - Parish Faith Formation and Ministry Activities

General

The top level of the Quigley Center will become the central place for the many important faith formation and ministry activities of our vibrant parish.  Key programs such as

 

· Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

· Youth and Young Adult Ministry

· Adult Faith Formation

· Parish Ministries / Organizations

 

Designed to be a flexible and inviting atmosphere, all will find the formation center a great place to grow closer to Christ and one another for years to come.  Primary access to this space will be located on the south side of the Quigley Center via an open, glass enclosed staircase or use of an elevator. A north side entry and exit will be provided.  All areas will be handicapped accessible. Some diagonal as well as handicapped parking will be located in the front of the building while most patrons will utilize the church parking lot directly across Summit Street from the entrance.  A small outside patio with benches at the south entrance is also planned.

 

Multi-use Faith Formation Space

Parishioners of all ages will benefit from use of a large, highly flexible meeting/gathering space in of this facility.  Movable acoustic partitions will allow our main meeting area to be divided or expanded based on the ministry size need.   This 4,200 sq. ft open space can be divided into as many as five rooms smaller sized rooms (1,400 – 450 square feet) giving tremendous flexibility to the changing size and functional needs of the various activities (see Parish Life).  When fully open, this space will have a maximum seating capacity of approximately 300 guests seated at round tables or 600 in conference seating.  This space would feature resilient carpet flooring, 12’ high ceilings, dimmable lighting, audio-visual systems, and treated walls.

 

Movable acoustic partitions will allow the west side of the café to be sectioned off should the need arise to create two additional meetings spaces, each able to accommodate 20-30 people.

 

Café

An open café on the upper level will serve as:

 

· A volunteer staffed reception area for visitors/meeting directions

· A warm, open gathering space for parish events or meetings

· A casual space to relax over a cup of coffee and/or visit with friends

 

This will create an inviting environment for ministries/individuals to gather and socialize.  This space would feature casual tables/seating and lounge furniture.  The café space and hallway will be tiled.  The Café ceilings will be “open” with acoustical elements.  It will open up to the south and west - over looking the church - with a total area of approx 3,000 square feet – a large gathering space especially for the youth/casual events.  Open café design will permit lots of natural light and visibility. 

 

This Multi-use meeting and Café space will serve as our central gathering facility for a wide variety of parish ministries, organizations and community events such as:

 

· Generations of Faith

· Various Ministry Meetings

· GIFT

· LifeTeen - Pdub

· Parish Retreats

· Faith Groups

· Parishioner Celebrations

· Training/Workshops

 

Support Areas

Other support areas include a central “warming” kitchen, large storage room for tables, chairs and ministry materials, a multi-use workroom, four office spaces and centralized restrooms.
